Market Brings Excitement to School Community

Last December, we were thrilled to revive a cherished pre-COVID tradition: the Winter Market. Students from Room 5 showcased their exceptional organizational skills by managing the event, from soliciting donations to stocking, displaying, and marketing EMJ's Winter Market, which took place before the December break. The festivities began with the Gingerbread House Decorating Night and over the week the entire school took part in the shopping and gift wrapping for friends and loved ones. The Market added a great deal of excitement to the school!

We are proud to announce that our Winter Market raised an impressive $1,014.50 for the Calgary Food Bank. This incredible success was driven by the hard work and dedication of Room 5 students, guided by Ms. Peterson, Ms. Ally, and Ms. Emmerson. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the families, and both current and former EMJ alumni, who generously donated a wide variety of wonderful gift options to stock the store.

The students learned valuable lessons throughout the Market experience, including stocking tables, guiding fellow students to specific sections based on their gift needs, and managing the cash register. These activities helped them develop essential customer service skills and enhance their number sense. Most importantly, they enjoyed providing this memorable experience for the entire school.
