Though this was a short week, it certainly kept us on our toes with a rollercoaster of weather! It was wonderful to welcome everyone back after Spring Break and hear the many stories of adventures, travel, and relaxing family time.

Our Grade 3 students in Mr. Topolnisky’s class had an exciting opportunity to attend Zoo School this week. With the colder weather, many of the animals were active, and students were especially thrilled to observe the tigers up close along with a variety of other species. The day was filled with hands-on learning, curiosity, and plenty of memorable moments.

Our Grade 1 and 2 classes also enjoyed a fantastic field trip to Telus Spark. Students explored a range of interactive exhibits that encouraged creativity, problem-solving, and scientific thinking. From building and experimenting to discovering how things work, it was a highly engaging experience that sparked lots of excitement and questions that continued back in the classroom.

Back at school, classrooms quickly settled back into routines, with students demonstrating positive energy and readiness to learn. Teachers have been focusing on re-establishing expectations, building classroom community, and diving back into literacy and numeracy learning.

Looking ahead to next week, Ms. Flanigan’s and Mr. Topolnisky’s classes will have one more day at Zoo School to continue their learning. All classes will also begin a gymnastics unit in Physical Education, where students will develop balance, coordination, and strength through a variety of activities and equipment.

We are also pleased to welcome back Constable Van Waes, who will be working with our students to discuss important safety topics in an age-appropriate and engaging way. These presentations are always valuable in helping students make safe and responsible choices.

As always, thank you for your continued support. We look forward to another full and exciting week ahead!
