This week at school began with some very cool temperatures, which meant spending a bit more time indoors. As the week went on, we were happy to take advantage of milder weather and get students back outside. It was wonderful to see how excited students were to return to school after the break and settle back into regular routines with their classmates and teachers.

We would like to wish Ms. Helfrich all the very best as she begins her new journey into motherhood. At the same time, we are pleased to welcome Mrs. Nelson to her class. Mrs. Nelson has recently returned to us after spending time at home with her new little one. Our Grade 4 and 5 students are truly fortunate to learn from two such caring and dedicated teachers.

In classrooms this week, students spent time setting new personal and academic goals for the year ahead and discussing what they can do to work toward them. Learning was well underway, with students exploring friction and force in science, engaging in thoughtful discussions, and one class writing some very creative and imaginative stories. It has been great to see students jumping back into learning with enthusiasm.

Looking ahead to next week, we are hopeful for some warmer temperatures and look forward to another week full of learning, growth, and connection.
