Was it really January this week? The weather felt more like spring, and while we enjoyed the sunshine, it has created some very icy conditions on the field during recess. Although sliding can seem like a lot of fun, our priority is keeping students safe and free from injury. Please take a moment to remind your child to stay off the icy patches at recess. We are hopeful that the ice will disappear soon as conditions continue to improve.

We had a great week of learning across classrooms. Students explored concepts related to time and place, engaged in creative superhero writing, and learned about the different roles within government. It has been wonderful to see their curiosity and creativity shine through these activities.

We are excited to share that we will be hosting another school dance on January 29! A permission form will be coming home with your child, which will include ticket information as well as an option to order pizza. This time, we are trying something new to ensure the dance is inclusive and enjoyable for all students. The first half hour will be sensory-friendly, with lower music volume and adjusted lighting to support students who benefit from a less stimulating environment. After that, the lights will be dimmed and the music turned up for students who enjoy a higher-energy experience. We are looking forward to seeing everyone having fun in a way that feels comfortable for them.

Looking ahead, next week will be another great week of learning, and we will also be enjoying a Healthy Hunger lunch on January 22.

Lastly, we would like to address some ongoing safety concerns during drop-off and pick-up times. We have noticed vehicles blocking driveways or stopping in the middle of the road, which creates unsafe conditions for students and families. We kindly ask that safety be prioritized over convenience by using appropriate parking and following traffic flow. Your cooperation helps keep our school community safe.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. We appreciate all you do to help make our school a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
