We had another great week of learning at EMJ! This week, students focused on Remembrance Day and Indigenous Veterans Day, taking time to reflect on the importance of peace, service, and gratitude. We were so proud of their thoughtful discussions and the respect they demonstrated during these meaningful lessons.

In Science, classrooms were buzzing with curiosity and excitement. One class even took their learning outdoors, experimenting with liquids to explore how different forces are created — there was plenty of cheering and hands-on fun!

Our Remembrance Day Assembly was a very special event. We want to extend our thanks to everyone who contributed — our Grade 5 and 6 students sang a moving song, we heard a heartfelt reading of In Flanders Fields, and our student MCs did a wonderful job leading the assembly with respect and confidence. It was a powerful reminder of the importance of remembrance in our community.

As a reminder, there will be no school next week due to Fall Break. Classes will resume on Thursday, November 13.

Here are a few important dates coming up:

  • November 18 – School Council Meeting at 6:00 p.m.
  • November 27 & 28 – Parent-Teacher Conferences
  • December 2 – Grade 6 Immunizations
  • December 11 – Winter Concert for Division 1 students
  • December 15 – We are excited to welcome Sandra Manyfeathers back to EMJ to share stories and teachings with our students
  • December 19 – Last day of school before Winter Break

We continue to appreciate your ongoing support and engagement in our school community. Wishing all of our families a restful and enjoyable Fall Break!
