We are pleased to welcome Lindsay Pawlyna to EMJ with the addition of a new Grade 2/3 class. All EMJ families have been notified directly if their child has been impacted by a class change. We are confident this adjustment will help us continue to meet the needs of our students and support their learning this year.

This week has been filled with meaningful learning opportunities across the grades. Students have been journaling about the seasonal changes they are noticing in our community, recording their observations of fall weather, and connecting these ideas to science outcomes. They have also been working on developing their writing skills, producing some impressive and thoughtful pieces. Across classrooms, we continue to see students taking on leadership roles, supporting one another, and showing responsibility and kindness towards both our school and the wider community. These qualities strengthen our school culture and create a positive environment for everyone.

As you are aware, the Alberta Teachers’ Association (ATA) strike is now underway. During the strike, all CBE schools, including EMJ, will be closed to students. This means:

  • There will be no classes. Please do not send your child to school.
  • There will be no transportation. Please do not leave your child at the bus stop.

The CBE is committed to keeping families informed as the situation evolves. Updates will be shared regularly, and the most accurate and up-to-date information can be found on the CBE website. We encourage all families to check the site frequently.

We look forward to seeing everyone back at EMJ soon.
