This week, students continued to build strong routines in their classrooms and around the school. We were also excited to welcome some new students into our community. A highlight of the week was our annual Terry Fox Run. Students walked or ran together, many dedicating their efforts to Terry Fox himself, family members, or other personal heroes. It was wonderful to see the spirit of determination and kindness shining through our school.

Looking ahead, here are a few important reminders:

  • Picture Day – Monday, September 22
Students will have their school photos taken on Monday. Please help your child come prepared with their best smile and an outfit they feel confident in.
  • Fire Drill – Thursday, September 25
We will be practicing our first fire drill of the school year. These safety practices are an important part of making sure everyone knows what to do in case of an emergency. Please remind your child that drills are about safety and staying calm.
  • On Thursday, September 26, our school will recognize Orange Shirt Day in honor of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Since there is no school on September 30, we will come together on this earlier date to show our commitment to learning, remembering, and honouring the experiences of Indigenous peoples.

We encourage all students to wear an orange shirt on September 26 as a way to show support and solidarity.

  • Parent Presentation on Growth Mindset – Wednesday, October 2 at 6:00 pm
We are excited to host a special evening for parents focused on Growth Mindset—a powerful approach to learning that helps students embrace challenges, learn from mistakes, and develop resilience. This session will provide parents with practical strategies to support a positive mindset at home and school.
