This week we said goodbye to Ms. Clark. She is off to Nickle School starting on Monday March 3, 2025. We will welcome Ms. Bellamy for this week as principal and the week of March 10 our new principal Mrs. Clark will be starting. We wish Ms. Clark all the best at Nickle.  

 Our grade 5 students have been working on a Minecraft world this week that builds a fur trading post focussing on either the Hudson Bay Company or the Northwest Trading Company. They will show their understanding of the importance of trading on a platform that many students love and are very familiar with.  They had a great time and learned a lot about our Canadian history.

Swimming 

Our kindergarten, grade 1, 2 and 3 students will be swimming this week at Canyon Meadows pool. Please be sure that if your child is attending that they have a swimsuit, towel, and underwear and socks (if they are wearing their swimsuit under clothes at school). You may want to provide extra snacks as well.  

Dental Screening 

Alberta Health Services is offering a dental screening program for students in Kindergarten, grade one and grade two. Consent forms will be sent home on Monday. If you are interested in having your child participate, please sign the forms and return them as soon as possible. The screening will take place here at EMJ on March 12 in the morning.  

School Council 

School Council will be on March 11 at 6pm. We welcome all parents/guardians to attend either in person or virtually (link will be sent out via School Messenger).  

 Assurance Survey 

All students in grades 4, 5 and 6 will be participating in a survey from the Alberta Government. It asks students about their experiences at school and their view of academics. Grade 4 parents will have received an email from the CBE with a code to participate in the survey as well. Please check your email for more information.
