This week was filled with exciting learning opportunities and memorable experiences for our students.
Our Grade 2 students had a fabulous time at Aggie Days this week. They enjoyed learning about agriculture in a hands-on way, seeing farm animals up close, and experiencing the excitement of a rodeo demonstration. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to connect classroom learning to the important role farming and agriculture play in our community.
We were also pleased to welcome Constable Van Waes back to our school this week. She spent time with students discussing the qualities and characteristics that help make a community safe, respectful, and caring. Students engaged in thoughtful conversations about kindness, responsibility, and the importance of making positive choices both at school and in the wider community.
Earlier in the week, several classes took part in a community walk to help build confidence, independence, and awareness of their surroundings. Students demonstrated excellent listening skills and responsibility while out in the community, making us very proud. The timing was perfect before Thursday’s big snow event arrived!
A special thank you goes out to our School Council for organizing this week’s Healthy Hunger lunch from A&W and for helping deliver meals to students. These lunch days are always something students look forward to, and we appreciate the time and effort our volunteers put into making them possible.
In Physical Education, students continued developing their movement skills during gymnastics. This week they challenged themselves by using trestles alongside mats to practise balance, coordination, strength, and safe movement. Next week, students will progress to the Canadian Climber and continue exploring additional mat skills. It has been wonderful to see students encouraging one another and building confidence as they try new activities.
Finally, a reminder to families to save the date for our Spring Concert on May 7 featuring our Grade 4, 5, and 6 students. We are excited to showcase the students’ hard work, creativity, and learning through this special performance and look forward to sharing it with our school community.
Please be advised that Friday April 24 is a Non-Instructional Day for students.
We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and enjoys some time together as a family.
