A Week of Learning, Reflection and Ladybugs!

It was another busy and meaningful week at school! On Tuesday, we came together for a special assembly to recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Students had the opportunity to learn some Blackfoot language and listen and learn about the importance of honouring Indigenous peoples, cultures, and histories. We were also proud to see some of our students share their own acknowledgements of the land. It was a thoughtful opportunity for our school community to reflect, learn, and continue building understanding together.

Our students have also been busy wrapping up some of their provincial assessments. We appreciate the effort and focus they have shown as they worked through these assessments.

There has been lots of learning happening beyond the classroom as well! With the arrival of fall, many classes have been taking their learning outside and looking for signs of the changing season. One discovery that seemed to capture everyone's attention was the abundant number of ladybugs in our field! Students were excited to observe them and talk about what they were seeing—a great reminder that sometimes the best learning opportunities are right outside our doors.

Coming Up This Week…

We are excited to welcome Alien Inline Skating back to EMJ! Our Grade 4, 5, and 6 students will have the opportunity to get moving, learn some new skills, and, as many of our students would agree, have a LOT of fun! This is always a favourite activity at our school, and we are very grateful to our School Council for sponsoring this experience for our students. Thank you for helping make these special opportunities possible!

Healthy Hunger

A reminder to families to make sure you have signed up for a Healthy Hunger account. We now have several lunch options available for families to order throughout the school year. It is a convenient way to arrange a special lunch for your child while also supporting some great school fundraising opportunities.

As always, thank you for your continued support of our school community. We hope everyone has a wonderful week ahead—and perhaps a little time to enjoy the beautiful signs of fall along the way!

Have a great week, EMJ families!
