This week gave our students plenty of opportunities to learn, participate, and show what they can do! From sharing their favourite things through writing to practising important safety routines and getting outside for our Terry Fox Run, there was lots happening throughout the school. It has been wonderful to see students taking part with enthusiasm and showing such great school spirit.

This week, students spent time writing about their favourite things, giving teachers an opportunity to learn more about their interests, personalities, and the things that make them happy. It has been wonderful getting to know our students and seeing their unique personalities shine through in their writing.

We also completed our first lockdown drill of the school year. Students did an excellent job listening carefully, following their teachers’ instructions, and remaining calm and quiet. The drill was very efficient, and Calgary Police Services shared that everyone did a fantastic job. We are very proud of our students for taking this important safety practice seriously.

Terry Fox Run

Our annual Terry Fox Run was another wonderful success! Students challenged themselves to complete as many laps around the field as they could, while teachers joined them, cheered them on, and encouraged our runners. It was fantastic to see so much enthusiasm, perseverance, and school spirit!

We finished the run with a well-deserved treat, generously funded by our School Council. A big thank you to our School Council for helping make the afternoon extra special!

Looking Ahead

We are excited to welcome families to Meet the Teacher on Thursday, September 24, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity to visit your child’s classroom, meet their teacher, learn more about classroom routines and expectations, and get a glimpse of what the school year will look like.

Friday, September 25 is a Professional Development Day, so there will be no school for students.
